Provident Hospital Dialysis Center Roof Top Unit Replacement

Client: Cook County Department of Capital Planning & Policy

Project: Provident Dialysis Center Roof Top Unit Replacement

Location: 430 E 50th Place, Chicago IL 60615

Project Partners: Sharlen Electric, Inspiring Building Technology, and Any Temperature

Autumn Construction Services was tasked by the Cook County Department of Capital Planning & Policy to manage the replacement of outdated heating equipment at the Provident Dialysis Center, an out-building at Provident Hospital located in Chicago, IL. The project scope involved removing and replacing a VAV box and a 20-foot long rooftop unit with new equipment of higher capacity.

One of the project's challenges was the limited timeframe allocated for the work, confined to just a single weekend. This necessitated innovative solutions from Autumn to adapt the new equipment to fit existing roof curbs and ductwork, minimizing disruption to the building. Unfortunately, the existing rooftop unit failed a week before the scheduled project, prompting Autumn to swiftly rent temporary cooling units to maintain comfort and continue providing dialysis care to the community.

Over the course of a single weekend, Autumn, alongside project partners Sharlen Electric, Inspiring Building Technology, and Any Temperature, successfully demolished and removed the old equipment, installed the new equipment along with all necessary utility and duct connections, initiated HVAC equipment startup, and completed cleanup, allowing the facility to resume operations for the community by the following Monday.

This achievement was made possible through meticulous planning, coordinated teamwork, and the dedication of our skilled tradespeople, enabling the seamless execution of the replacement project within a tight timeframe.
