Recently, our VDC team worked with a client whose manufacturing operation had outgrown their building. They were in the planning stage of moving from a 40k sqft facility to a 60k sqft building. Using state-of-the-art 3D scanning equipment, we were able to accurately capture dimensional data, as well as any necessary utility hookups for their equipment. Joe Melody, Autumn’s BIM Technician/Pipe Fitter 597, performed as the project lead, capturing and translating the data from 3D to 2D format. With this information, we the client by efficiently laying out their equipment in their new, much larger building - all without a single stoppage of production.
