Autumn completed work as the prime mechanical contractor to W.E. O’Neil Construction Co. for the construction of the Illinois Tollway M-8 Maintenance Facility located in Aurora, IL along I-88. Our subcontractor partners included Any Temperature, Inc. for mechanical ventilation and Precision Controls for temperature controls and building systems management. The 95,000 SF state-of-the-art energy-efficient facility replaced the existing facility built in 1958. The new M-8 includes fully equipped indoor vehicle maintenance bays, vehicle and material storage areas, offices, and a separate truck wash building and salt dome. Mechanical work by the Autumn team included the installation of in-floor hydronic radiant heat, overhead natural gas-fired radiant heating systems, energy-efficient HVAC equipment, fans, and heat recovery systems. The building was constructed to meet LEED certification standards for sustainable design and construction.
