Cook County Department of Corrections Water Systems Upgrades

OWNER: Cook County Department of Corrections
CLIENT: FH Paschen
PROJECT: Department of Corrections Water Systems Upgrades
LOCATION: Chicago, Il
CONSTRUCTION START: Nov 2021
COMPLETION: Jan 2022

The Cook County Department of Corrections required a water system upgrade at its DOC campus. The system was not keeping up with demand, and non-conditioned water is very hard on the piping and equipment.

Autumn installed a twin water softener, a single water softener, a twin De-Alkalizer, and a single De-alkalizer. The project presented some challenges when moving large tanks to a very tight, second-floor area. With the help and planning of our partner FH Paschen, we were able to quickly and safely locate all of the tanks to the second floor.

The new system is able to meet the demand of the steam system for the facility. The system upgrades are much more efficient and will help the DOC conserve water. With this new equipment, the county will have conditioned water for the next 20 years. The project was very successful.
