Belmont-Cragin Elementary and Riis Park Fieldhouse Mechanical Construction

Autumn Construction Services was selected as the prime mechanical contractor to George Sollitt Construction Co. for a City of Chicago construction project. The work included the new construction of a three-story, approximately 85,900 GSF, Chicago Public School (CPS) building: Belmont-Cragin Elementary. The job also included renovations and upgrades to the gymnasium facility linked to an existing Chicago Park District (CPD) Fieldhouse: Riis Park Fieldhouse. The Fieldhouse renovation required site development and CPD interior renovations as part of the link. The existing main building at the Riis Park Fieldhouse remained except for the 1-story rear gymnasium wing which has been demolished. Interior renovations within the CPD Fieldhouse included Fire Alarm System and utility upgrades. A new multi-purpose cafeteria, gymnatorium, and academic wing will be built to serve both the new elementary school, as well as the Chicago Park District programming and events. Autumn’s contract includes installation of all new mechanical piping and equipment, HVAC ventilation, and temperature controls.
