Autumn Construction is proud to partner with Blackhawk HVAC on a crucial project at Southside Occupational Academy High School in Chicago. We were tasked with replacing 23 unit ventilators (UVs) and addressing unforeseen issues in the main building and annex. And we committed to completing the project within a strict timeline, within the few-week holiday break.
Initially, the project included the replacement of the UVs and dielectric unions. However, during site walks, additional needs emerged. We uncovered that the entire system needed to be replaced, including boilers and hot water pumps. Recognizing the importance of minimizing disruption to day-to-day school operations, we urgently scheduled the construction over the winter holiday break. This schedule ensures that by the end of the break, Southside Occupational Academy High School will boast 23 new Unit Ventilators and an upgraded annex featuring two new boilers, two pumps, and a hot water heater.

About Southside Occupational Academy: “We are a transition center for students aged 16-22 years with disabilities. Students are placed at our school by the Office of Diverse Learners and Support Services. We provide students with educational training opportunities in the areas of Independent Functioning, Social Learning, Vocational, and Applied Academics.”
