Wrigley Field decided to redo a section of radiant tubing beneath a pedestrian walkway before the 2023 season’s Opening Day. The radiant tubing is located beneath the brick pavers running along the historic Caretaker’s house which is attached to the stadium. Radiant tubing is used as a reliable snowmelt system to keep the pedestrian pathway clear of snow and ice.

The project started with the removal of the existing path pavers. The brick pavers were encased in sand, so once the bricks were lifted, we used a vacuum truck to remove the sand. We poured a solid base of concrete to replace the sand. Then, Autumn’s team reset the radiant tubing snowmelt system to ensure even heat distribution across the area. After, we were able to redo and level the newly laid brick pavers.

Autumn was hired by Shamrock Construction to complete the job after previous successful snowmelt system collaborations, including additional work for Wrigley Field’s Gallagher Way and Willis Tower. The entire project was completed within two weeks, wrapping up in time for Opening Day. Thank you Shamrock Construction for your continued partnership.
