In May 2021, the UIC College of Engineering opened a fully functional robotics lab at the Makerspace facility located on the University of Illinois Chicago campus. The Autumn JOC (job-order contracting) project team was tasked with providing an all-new, air handling unit to provide temperature control and humidity control for the lab. Our work included the installation of a steam heat exchanger, pumps, piping, and insulation work. The project team included Autumn Construction, Althoff Industries, Automatic Building Controls, and McWilliams Electric Company.
