Due to their proximity, coinciding schedules, and agencies involved, Autumn was part of the single construction management team for these two related projects, providing QC, construction inspection, and administration for this

project. The flyover extension of Balmoral Avenue over Mannheim Road, located directly east of Terminal 5, offers direct access to the Rosemont commercial district. Work scope included viaduct removal, bridge construction and resurfacing, utility relocation, earthwork, retaining wall construction, traffic signal installation, and landscaping. The multi-stakeholder project was within IDOT right-of-way and Airport property. Mannheim Rd was also under construction under a separate IDOT contract which required daily coordination to eliminate MOT conflicts. The I-190 ATS Bridge Pier Relocation was a part of O’Hare’s (ATS) system multi-phase upgrade. It consisted of the removal and reconstruction of an abutment and two piers and integration of the 750 Volt electrical upgrades into the existing system. The final product included a new electrical building and a two-span continuous unit steel girder over eastbound I-190 with the related Balmoral Avenue extension supported by the new concrete piers, abutment, and caissons for the ATS superstructure.  Autumn Construction Services, Inc. provided the construction inspection and construction administration services for the project.
