Chicago’s Department of General Services has hired our team led by R.M. Chin & Associates, Inc. to provide a comprehensive assessment of the 14-story building located at 79 W. Monroe. This building was constructed in 1906 and consists of 171,000 rsf of office and retail space. Autumn will be performing an assessment of the Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Systems along with producing cost estimates.

The Department of General Services has hired our team led by R.M. Chin & Associates, Inc. to provide comprehensive facility inspections of three Department of Streets and Sanitation’s Recycling Sorting Centers. Autumn will be providing inspections and evaluations of the MEP and fire protection systems.

Autumn has been hired by Meccon Industries, Inc. to assist with the management of the O’Hare Cargo Fuel System Replacement project. The project involves decommissioning of the existing cargo fuel/glycol storage and dispensing systems and construction of a complete cargo storage and dispensing facility including tanks, piping, pumps, utilities and cathodic protection. Autumn’s services include project management, quality and safety related professional services.

Autumn has been hired by American Airlines to provide an assessment of thirty-nine vertical conveyors in Concourses H, K and L of O’Hare’s Terminal 3. The assessment includes identification of primary equipment, determination of the maintained condition and estimation of remaining life expectancy of major components and making recommendations for modernization based upon industry and code standards.

Autumn has been hired by WMA Consulting Engineers, LTD. to perform construction administration and progress reporting of the Countywide Fire & Life Safety System Upgrade - Package 7. The buildings include Department of Corrections’ buildings at 26th and California as well as four buildings in the Maywood campus including the Courthouse. This project began in April, 2008 and is expected to continue until November, 2009.

Autumn’s project manager, as part of the Chicago Airports Resources Enterprise joint venture, managed the renovation of 22 7-story traction elevators at O’Hare International Airport. These elevators move the traveling public from the Elevated Parking Structure to the Terminal Buildings.

On a state-of-the-art biological research facility, located on the Children’s Memorial campus, Autumn provided building systems coordination services as part of the general contractor’s on-site project team. This challenging project had a 9 month construction schedule. The project’s systems included specialty laboratory equipment and fixtures and operating rooms that contained medical and laboratory gas systems, specialty ventilation and lighting systems. Autumn and the team worked with project subcontractors and the project architect and engineers to complete the building one month ahead of schedule.

Autumn provided construction observation and inspection for the $2.5 Million renovation of mechanical, electrical, security and communications systems for courtrooms, judges’ chambers and prisoner holding areas at the Maywood Courthouse of the Circuit Court of Cook County. Autumn was hired by the Architect/Engineer to conduct the weekly on site project meeting and to prepare meeting minutes and reports.

Autumn was a member of the program management team that managed this $738 million project over 8 years. The program included the total redevelopment of Chicago’s Midway Airport increasing size and capacity from 28 to 43 jet gates, including new public and employee parking facilities, the addition of Federal Inspection Services for international flights, new apron and taxiways, ground transportation facilities, and development of new central heating and refrigeration plant.
Autumn provided building systems expertise during the planning, design and construction of the program. Responsibilities included coordinating and development and management of all technical issues related to the privatization of the Midway central heating and refrigeration plant.

Autumn provided program management services to American Airlines’ prime consultant for the renovation of the concourse and operations levels of the Concourse G building including 18 jet gates. Specifically, Autumn provided the building systems expertise during the development, design and construction of this $54 million project over the span of three years. Responsibilities included scope and budget development, coordination of design and construction issues as related to building systems and witnessing commissioning of all building systems and equipment. Autumn facilitated the development of project phasing and schedules to ensure that no more than two gates would be closed at any time. Autumn was the primary interface between the City of Chicago’s Department of Aviation, American Airlines, American Eagle, the design team and the prime contractor.

Autumn Construction Services, Inc. (Autumn) was a subconsultant to the construction manager/prime contractor (Hill Mechanical Corp.). The $30 Million project included the complete replacement of 42 air handling unit systems located in the mechanical penthouses of Terminals 2 and 3. Autumn provided a part-time project engineer on site over a period of 29 months to perform all aspects of construction management including management of project paperwork, submittals, pay requisitions, MBE/WBE/EEO documentation and daily correspondence. Autumn also assisted in the development and execution of the commissioning program for the project as well as developed and managed the project schedule using Primavera software.

Autumn was hired by Exelon Thermal Technologies to oversee mechanical and electrical systems design, bidding and construction of mechanical cooling system retrofits to enable Chicago Loop buildings to accept chilled water from Exelon’s central plant and energy distribution system. Responsbilities included coordinating issuance of contracts and purchase orders, monitoring progress, reviewing and resolving design and construction issues, liaising with building owners, contractors and Exelon on project issues and system start up.

For this $450 million construction project, Autumn provided project engineering services for the $20 million mechanical piping contract as part of the mechanical contractor’s project team. Autumn’s services included assisting in preparation of the project estimate and bid, piping systems material and equipment evaluation and purchase, submittal preparation, and review of design revisions and preparation of estimates for changes in the work. Autumn was involved with this project during the bidding and early construction phases.
