Susan Nelson, President, is pleased to report on Autumn’s progress in 2008.  Susan said, “We hired four new staff this year and added six new clients. Other significant milestones achieved included the opening of a new office, launching our website and becoming certified as a DBE.  We are mindful of the difficult economy and are thankful for the dedication and hard work of our employees, for the loyalty of our clients and for the support of many colleagues.  In 2009, we will continue to focus our efforts in areas where we can provide growth opportunities for our qualified staff.”

Autumn has been certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) by the City of Chicago acting as host agency for the Illinois Unified Certification Program.

Autumn is pleased to announce that Stephen Stroud has joined the firm as a Design Project Manager.  He will be managing the planning and design of M/E/P projects as part of the Chicago Airports Resources Enterprise Construction Management team beginning in September, 2008.  Stephen is a mechanical engineer with 15 years of experience.

Autumn’s Vice President, Tim Morgan, has been selected as Chicago Airports Resources Enterprise’s Project Manager for the Concourse A Addition and Satellite Building project at Midway International Airport.  The steel framed additions will have a masonry enclosure at the tarmac level and glass and metal panel curtainwall system at the upper and mezzanine levels.  A total of 60,250 square feet of covered floor space will provide areas for a food court, concession/retail vendors, concession storage, a passenger hold room and office space for airline operations.  Each addition will include a mechanical mezzanine.  The project has a $26 million construction value.  Construction began in September, 2008 and will be complete by November, 2009.

Autumn would like to welcome Collette Glauber to our staff. Collette graduated with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Bradley University in July, 2008. She will be working with one of our senior managers on projects at Midway International Airport.

Autumn is pleased to announce that Carolyn Johnson joined us in May, 2008 to work with a new client, The Gordian Group. Ms. Johnson will be performing duties required to administer the multiple Job Order Contracts operated by the City of Chicago.

Autumn has been hired by WMA Consulting Engineers, LTD. to perform construction administration and progress reporting of the Countywide Fire & Life Safety System Upgrade - Package 7.  The buildings include Department of Corrections’ buildings at 26th and California as well as four buildings in the Maywood campus including the Courthouse.  This project began in April, 2008 and is expected to continue until November, 2009.
